Page 8 - Molly and Baby

“We were left behind!” wailed Baby.
“But we are going to make our way home,” added Molly
optimistically.
“Well it’s a long way from here!” said the cat. “I am rather
busy catching all of the lovely mice that live in this forest.
But I can take you half way, if that is any good?”
“Wow! Yes please!” said Molly. Baby still looked unsure.
They set off together into the trees. There were lots of
noises. Birds singing, insects chirruping and the gentle
breeze shaking the leaves. Baby began to feel a bit better.
She liked the forest and the sun shining through the leaves.
She felt a bit like she was getting closer to Niamh again.
They rounded a bend and suddenly, up above, they heard
children’s voices shouting excitedly.
Looking up, Molly could see some funny looking planks
hanging from the trees. There were ropes hanging down
making bridges. The children were all wearing silly hats and
were all tied up with string. Molly thought this was all very
strange.
