Trickling Filters
Trickling Filters offer a cost effective and simple means to remove up to 85% of
the BOD and suspended solids (TSS), given enough contact time.
Trickling Filters do not provide enough contact time to remove nutrients like
nitrogen or phosphorus.
Trickling Filters are not commonly used in extremely cold climates, as extremely
cold temperatures can inhibit or kill the zoogloeal mass.
