Trickling Filters
A Trickling Filter provides FIXED FILM biological contact (as compared to
SUSPENDED SOLIDS fluid media we are familiar with in Activated Sludge Basins).
Fixed Film requires surface area for biology to grow on. This biology creates a
slimy goo call ZOOGLOEAL MASS.
The Trickling Filter media comes in 2 forms; 1) Rock and, 2) Plastic.
