SHEARING/DEGLOVING WOUNDS Extensive avulsion wound involves the
left hindlimb. Degloved skin is held by gloved fingers (top). Reconstruction would
require use of the caudal superficial epigastric axial pattern flap or a mesh graft. SHEARING/DEGLOVING WOUNDS Shearing wound secondary to vehicular
trauma. After debridement and open wound care, this wound closed by contraction
and epithelization.
SHEARING/DEGLOVING WOUNDS Healing lower-extremity wound. Over
180 degrees of the limb’s circumference is involved, necessitating closure with a
full-thickness mesh graft. SHEARING/DEGLOVING WOUNDS Successful full-thickness mesh graft
closure of a large lower-extremity defect.
