As in other ectotherms, reptile allograft rejection is temperature
dependent. Turtles, snakes, and lizards reject allogeneic skin grafts
in about 40 days at 25° C. Other evidence of cell-mediated immune
responses such as delayed hypersensitivity reactions have been
demonstrated in reptiles.
