Surgery Workshop

Nicola Gibson and Lucy Kaye are both experienced documentary makers and educators at London Film School.
They are offering a 3 hour ‘documentary surgery’ where students are welcome to come and discuss an idea or
receive feedback on a film that they are currently working on.
We will offer feedback on;
- Development of an idea – creative and structural approaches
- Editorial feedback of film footage that may be rushes or edited material
(maximum 10 minutes)
- Advice on narrative structure and interviewing (either pre or post production)
- Any other pre - production/research issues e.g., access, consents or ethics

The benefit of the surgery will be through direct participation or through a shared peer learning experience for
students who want to be involved in the workshop, but do not have a film/or idea to present.
There will be a limit of eight places for students who wish to submit their film/or idea, but the session will be open
to all to come and listen.
