Case study: Hormel Foods Corporation
Situation
Hormel Foods Corporation, a publicly traded company on the S&P 500
Index with a reported 2019 revenue of $2.497 billion, is an American
company in Austin, Minnesota. It serves 80 countries with brands
such as Applegate, Columbus Craft Meats, Dinty Moore, Jennie-O,
and Skippy. Hormel was looking to expand their digitally transformed
business operations to result in a competitive edge.
Challenge
Transition homegrown on-premises applications and manual
processes to the cloud. Hormel’s priority was to consolidate multiple
ERP systems into a single cloud-delivered Oracle HCM deployment.
This required a solution that could manage identities and provisioning
to both Oracle ERP and Microsoft 365. To take full advantage of the
Microsoft and Oracle cloud interoperability partnership, Hormel needed
a single platform with fine-grained visibility for their Oracle HCM/ERP
applications and governance for Microsoft Teams.
Result
Saviynt’s technical capabilities and SaaS delivery model proved
that all three solutions—Microsoft, Oracle, and Saviynt—are better
together. These three solutions created a fully interoperable, holistic
digital transformation strategy with automated identity. Hormel was
able to rationalize the complete competitive advantage, fully digitally
transform, and reduce costs.
