Destinations:
Central
The central region of Myanmar has numerous wonders to discover. Scattered
over the plains of Bagan are more than 2000 pagodas, of varying size and
within easy reach. Discover the temples by bicycle or from the basket of a
hot air balloon! Mandalay is a culturally rich and historical city, home to all
things big, from the largest book in the world, the tallest standing Buddha
and the longest teak bridge.
South
The southern part of Myanmar has something for everyone where folklore
is woven into the fabric of daily life. Basking within the glow of Shwedagon
Pagoda is the fascinating city of Yangon with its impressive colonial
architecture and melting pot of cultures. The wonder of Golden Rock,
limestone cave dotted landscape and quaint river towns all add to the
charm of the south.
North
The former colonial outpost of Putao is one of Myanmar’s more remote
destinations to reach and sees very few tourists, but those who do make
the effort are rewarded with a wealth of natural beauty and extreme
adventure. White-water raft down category 3 & 4 rapids, trek through lush
jungle or join an expedition to summit snow-capped mountains.
East
Blessed with a temperate climate and big rolling hills as far as the eye can
see, makes this a must see destination. The centerpiece is Inle Lake, a vast
expanse of fresh water where stilted houses rise above the water to form
villages and many ethnic tribal groups gather to trade at weekly markets.
You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to activities, from hot air balloons
to wine tasting, Inle Lake has it all.
West
The west is a blend of culture and traditions unlike any other to be found
in Myanmar. The palm fringed coastline hugs the Bay of Bengal and warm
waters lap at the sandy beaches of Ngapali. Step back in time as you wander
the ancient Arakan stone fortresses and temples of Mruak U, and meet the
last generations of Chin tribal women with their distinctive facial tattoos.
