PT3 TOP SCORERS OF
A total of 185 students sat for the PT3 exam in 2018 and42 students succeeded in obtaining 7As and above while the CGPA achieved was 2.33. The following students are some of the top scorers in the examination.
LIEW JUN (10As)
When Liew Jun took his exam slip, he was dumbfounded to the point that he went up to confirm with his teacher whether the results he had obtained were true or not. He had only expected himself to get 8As at the most. He certainly didn’t expect to score an A for Science, which was the subject he
struggled most among all the subjects in the PT3 examination. Liew Jun expressed his utmost gratitude to his teachers, family and friends. He was glad that he didn’t disappoint his parents who had high expectations of him. Liew Jun stated that he has no secret to his success - what he had done to achieve such flying colours in his PT3 examination results was by simply giving his full attention when the teacher was teaching in class. His first choice is to study alone as it is easier to focus. However, he also felt that studying with his friends in school was helpful as he could ask them questions and learn answering techniques from them but studying alone is his go-to choice.. For Liew Jun, studying is like a two-way communication, if you don’t know, just ask.
TEO XIAN YIEW (10As)
Xian Yiew was one of the top contenders to get straight A’s for the PT3 examination as he would usually get the no.1 spot in Form 3 during school exams and sure enough, he did prove his mettle by obtaining 10As. He stated that he was satisfied with his results as all the hard work he had put
in had finally paid off. Xian Yiew would like to credit his success to his family, friends and teachers especially Puan Zarul, his Science teacher and Encik Aiman Fashah, his BM teacher for guiding him and teaching him the answering techniques. Chinese Language would be the subject where he struggled most in the PT3 examination and in his opinion, the hardest among all the subjects. Xian Yiew’s secret to success would be to learn from one’s mistakes and not to dwell upon them. His advice to future candidates is to work hard while you still have the ability, energy and time to do so. Xian Yiew’s preparation for the PT3 is nothing out of the ordinary. All he did was just read, revise and do exercises. He prefers to study alone as he needs his own private space to be able to study effectively. As for future plans, he hopes to get straight A+ in his SPM examination. Xian Yiew plans to pursue robotics engineering in the future.

BEH KAI FENG (10As)
Beh Kai Feng would usually obtain one of the best results in the form whenever there was an exam. Still, he was surprised to find out that he was one of the students who had scored straight A’s for the PT3 examination. This feeling of surprise also came with a feeling of satisfaction. Kai Feng himself says that
he owes his success to the teachers who helped him during the PMKA programme and throughout the years leading up to the PT3 examination. His family too had helped him a lot with the unending encouragement and also his friends who helped him in his weak subjects. Although Kai Feng is one of the smartest students in the form, he too has subjects where he struggled. These include Maths and Science as it is hard to understand and constant practice and memorizing had to be done. Kai Feng’s secret to success and preparation for the PT3 examination were both the same thing, which is to study in the way one likes. In Kai Feng’s case, he made his own notes and revised them. Regarding his future plans, computer science would be Kai Feng’s preferred choice of study after he graduates in the near future.
PHUAH CHEN HAN(10As)
There is a saying which goes: “The quietest ones have the loudest minds” and this depicts Chen Han who had obtained the 10 As in the PT3 examination. Finally, his hard work and dedication towards his academics alongside others bore fruit but he was still surprised that he had actually scored full As due to the perception that
he might not score in the Chinese Language subject which might prevent him from getting the results he had always longed for. In fact, he was worried that he might be disappointed with his results. The journey was never alone for him and he thanked his parents who helped him a lot especially his sister who was his confidante. Credit should also be given to his teachers who tirelessly guided him in one way or another, and most importantly his friends who brought joy and comfort to him during turbulent times. He strongly advised his juniors to strive a balance and prevent pressuring oneself excessively, and to never give up. Leading up towards the examination, he would often study alone while practising answering questions. He would determine mistakes and fix them. He added that hopefully, his interest in engineering and science could bring him to greater heights in the future.
