Healthy Chesapeake is a 501 (c)(3)
nonprofit organization that serves as the
population health arm for Chesapeake
Health Department. Our mission is to build
a culture of wellness that supports, sustains
and advocates for a healthier community.
Our mandate from the City of Chesapeake
is to:
1. Study the effects of poverty on health
2. Manage diabetes and hypertension
3. Improve access and utilization of
healthy foods.
In response to the COVID-19 threat,
Governor Northam issued VA Executive
Order 53 which effectively restricted
farmers market operations throughout the
Commonwealth. To ensure healthy local
foods remain available in our community,
Healthy Chesapeake has created an online
farmers market with curbside pickup
locations throughout Chesapeake.
