which I love. You are another example of an excellent but subtle leader, and as I said before, this band needs more leaders to keep it going. Cassie: Cassie, I am confident that one day in this band you WILL be a drum major if you go for it again. You are kind, caring, passionate about what you do, and a natural leader. I am positive that you will stand on that podium one day, and I look forward to the day that I get to stand in the stands and watch you conduct that band. Thank you for listening to my problems and complaints, especially last year, because you were a good friend to me in a time when I felt very alone. Thank you for that.
The Juniors (Jacky, Jules, Michael, Jared, Josh, Luke):
You are all truly luck at the bond that you have formed between each other as a grade. Finding excellent friends in life is one of the most amazing things, and I hope you all continue to have the bond of friendship long past your college years. Jacky: You are such an amazing human, and you are never ever afraid to be yourself. I love that, and I truly admire that about you. Never ever be afraid to be you, because you are hilarious, and kind, and the kind of person everyone should want to know. Lead our rookies next year well, and always be you. Jules: This year as a first year staff member, I feel like I saw you really come out of your shell the rest of the way. Don’t get me wrong, you’ve always been outgoing and kind to everyone, but you really came out and showed that you are the prime example of what a staff member should be. You are kind to everyone, and you make a point of making sure everyone is included and kept in the loop, and you are not afraid to admit when you make a mistake. Your ability to admit when you have made a mistake and not let your pride get in the way is really admirable. Michael: It’s always nice to have someone to talk sports with, but it’s also unbelievably nice to have someone who understands your humor. You’ve laughed (whether real laughter or fake) at so many of my jokes, even when they were God awful not funny. Also, you are truly one of the funniest people I know. Keep that sense of humor through your entire life because that’s something that’s alwayyyssss good lol. Jared: Meme Lord. Jared DaBooke. Who else would I talk about Pokémon with and lose several Azelf with? Keep making your quality videos because that shit gives me a serious laugh. You’re one of the funniest guys I know and you make some of the funniest (but also stupidest, in a good way stupid) memes ever. Good luck in your final year, and I expect to see lots of dying senior year memes. Josh: You are such a kind person with so much energy and excitement all the time. You bring an energy level with you every day that you go to band and I hope you maintain that energy level into your senior year, because without Sophia and Melanie we are gonna need more people to keep the spirit level up. Luke: Your first year as drill section leader was a serious success, and while at first I didn’t know what to expect you came in and showed everyone that you are an excellent leader who does a good job at ensuring that even the slowest membrane is helped and is assisted to get to the same level as the rest. You’ve embodied the concept of being a leader and not a boss, in making sure the whole group puts in the work to be equal and not just barking out orders. I hope you have a great time with it next year for your senior year.
The Seniors :( (Leanna, Sophia, Melanie, Tyler):
I’m not totally sure how we started with 18 of us and ended with just 5 (Kathryn as a senior last year marks one of them, and Zach not graduating this year makes another one) but I’m so glad that we all finally made it. I remember our rookie year watching the Vets doing the parade routine and having NO idea what was going on, but I knew that I was gonna love getting to scare the rookies every year after that with it on their first game day. I’m so glad we made it, but I am truly going to miss being a part of this group. Leanna: Hey Buddy, I can’t believe I had never seen where you lived until our senior year lol. I loved having a Harry Potter buddy, and a Divergent buddy, and overall just a buddy I could talk about my book obsessions with. Oh and someone I could harass about Panic. I can’t believe we started freshman year with like, 10 of us in this group and it has been whittled down
