to just the two of us left in band. I’ve had a great time with you in band, and I hope that we don’t lose touch just because we are graduating. Love you dude, I hope you ‘always’ stay ‘brave’. Sophia: I have to say I have truly never met anyone with as much commitment to an act, holiday, or event as you. The shark this year killed me, and every year you go all out. I have to say, at first when I heard you were making staff I didn’t know what to expect. I knew you were late for stuff a lot. I knew you liked to goof around. So I wasn’t sure what to expect, you know, being used to Kit and Kevin and the Robs and Dans, but in all sincerity, in the last two years, you’ve done such a great job as our music section leader. You’ve lead us really well, and you’ve made sure that everyone keeps up. As one of the people in the group that definitely has less experience on the saxophone than the rest, you’ve really helped me to feel confident in my ability to actually do it. Thank you for that. Melanie: I still chuckle when I think about the fact that last year I thought you hated me and you thought I hated you, because you are one of those people that it would be so hard to hate. You are such a kind and pure soul and I can see why you are going into Elementary Ed. You have such a wonderful excitement for life about you, even when things aren’t necessarily the best situation, and that rubs off on the people around you. You have a positivity about you that has rubbed off on me, and even when things felt dark to me, you managed to help me let a little sunlight in, whether you knew it or not. You’re going to be an amazing teacher, and I wish you the best of luck with little rug-rats next year. Tyler: I feel like I only ever see you out on Main Street, and that cracks me up a little because I was AT your 21st birthday Mr. Toskito. In all sincerity, you’re a great guy, and I enjoyed watching you become a leader and lead us all as a rank leader, and hope that next year you do well wherever you are going. I remember freshman year when you were late for the bus and we all watched you walk to the stadium from the bus, and you have definitely grown up from those games 4 years ago. Good luck in your future endeavors.
Zach Smith: Being as you have fit into several of these groups, you get your own category of “?”. You started out our rookie year with us, despite being older, and I am so glad that you did because you’ve become someone I consider my good friend. I have enjoyed going to the bars with you since turning 21, and hanging around the apartments before that. You were at the very first party that I had freshman year in my small dorm room, and you stuck around and were at my very last party that I had in my large bedroom (yeah after that night I’m not having another one) and you truly are the life of the party. You also bring an excitement to band and to life, even when you may not be feeling great and even when things may not be so great for you, and that is admirable. You have things going on but you put them aside to try to keep the positivity with everyone else and that is fantastic. I hope life continues to be good to you, and I hope you continue to do band as long as you can.
Sarv: Thank you for all that you have done for us as a band. You have helped me see that I could be more, and you have helped me see that sometimes having fun is possible even in serious situations. Your “nobody died, it’s going to be okay” speech you gave us before helped me so much this year, because there have been so many situations where I’ve been so anxious that I thought I was going to end up with a stomach ulcer and I just thought, “listen to Sarv, nobody is dead, it’ll all be okay”. You put in so much of your time to make us great, and you make sure all of us know that we have a place with you and your band. You made band a place to escape in a stressful world, and I will never forget the time that I have spent in your band. The moments that I’ve spent on that field, finishing a show, feeling my heart in my throat and all the hair stand up on my body because of just how amazing I felt will stay with me my entire life, and I will never ever regret putting my blood, sweat and tears into this band. Thank you for everything you’ve given me, and everything you have made me feel confident enough to do, whether you knew it or not.
This is obviously not everyone that is important to me, and a few other people that stand out to me are Alyssa Rosenblum, Yuchen in Intro to Bio lab forever, Stephen Gelberg, and the time he spent as
