You are always willing to lend a hand and are the #1 supporter of the mello section (even when you are injured). Best of luck with everything in your senior year.
Sophomores (Ginger Visser, Hannah Gentry, Kat Bergquist, and Ryan Cruz) – I would write to you all individually, but since your first day in the UDMB, you all have been the closest-knit class the mello section has ever seen and I love it! Thank you for completely embodying the spirit of the mello section – don’t lose it, and carry it with you to senior year and beyond. Thank you for always being there for me in your own unique way. Please feel free to reach out whenever about anything, even after I graduate!
Freshmen (Aaron Junkin, Noah Farnsworth, Noah Silverman) – Honestly, freshman year feels like halfway between a million years ago and a blink of an eye. Savor. Every. Moment. They will all be gone before you know it. Thank you for bringing top-tier musicality and personality to our section. I also appreciate you continuing our legacy of good looks and weoni. You’ll get involved with a lot of things during your time at UD, but I promise the UDMB is the best thing this school has to offer – so stick with it. I look forward to seeing what this section becomes with you as its future leaders.
To the 2019 Ad Staff...
Meals Team – We did it - we made it the entire season without accidentally killing or poisoning any band members! Thank you for helping manage all of the dietary restrictions and traffic flow. I appreciate all you did this season.
Merchandise – Thank you for always stepping up to help! You are always the first group to volunteer when Ad Staff needs help and I truly appreciate it. Your job requires a lot of focus which you all demonstrate every time you lend a hand.
Recruitment – Thank you for recruiting such an awesome rookie class! I appreciate all of the work you put in over the summer and everything you do to help make band camp a success.
Social Media – Thank you for reminding me to #ReachHigher and #LoveBand! You have grown our social media presence so much over the past two years and continue to delight and surprise me with the content you share.
Stand Music – Thank you for your dedication to creating a positive game day experience for the UDMB and our fellow Blue Hen fans. I know the logistics of getting the stand music to the game can be challenging, but I appreciate your commitment to making it happen.
Uniforms – Thank you for always making the band look its best! Your attention to detail, kindness, and problem-solving skills have proved invaluable to our program. Keep on shining.
Sarah Joyce –Thank you for being my right-hand woman. I appreciate that you are always ready to help and get your hands dirty. Big things are coming your way; the band is in great hands now. I really want to say something motivational and encouraging to you here, but I think it would be even more meaningful when you need to hear it the most. So, I want you to set two reminders on your phone: one for mid-August 2020 and one for mid-September 2020 – reminders to text me when you need advice or encouragement next year. I know you will shine on your own, but you have taught me
