together after our final 2019 performance. It is overwhelming to try to conceptualize the generations of bandos before us and the innocent lil’ high schoolers that have no idea what our organization has in store for them after us. If I got to have 4 transformative seasons and grow into the human I am now, damn, am I so excited to see where anyone would be 4 years after they entered the cheering field staff tunnel for the first time.
For my Fluties:
You are all such special humans and each have a piece of my heart. I have enjoyed
getting to know you over the past year(s) and look forward to all of the awesomeness
you are becoming. Please continue to lift each other up- your compassion for one another has been incredibly moving and I am glad to be a small piece of your flutiful puzzle. I cannot wait to cheer you all on from the other side next year.
My parting thoughts include the reassuring thought that band is not contained to 4+ years, maybe performing is limited, but band is forever, it is in the friendships we share, in the crusted music in our abandoned flip folders, in the hitch in our voices during In My Life. A forever home that we can always look back on.

Throughout my past for years in the UDMB, I have made friendships and created experiences that will last with me for a long time. From rehearsals to parades and shows, my time in this ensemble has allowed me to grow into the person I am now.
