“When I started, as a young woman working on constru ion sites in the rail industry, there were two pes of rea ions to my presence on site om the mostly older male workers – overly polite and apologising for any perceived crude behaviour; or my input not being taken seriously. is has anged in the almost 10 years in the industry with my experience and a more open working environment. You still get men apologising for swearing though - I usually respond with ‘I have heard that word before you know!’
