Experience Newcomb Patch Program
Congratulations Joyce, Deb, & Dan!
Joyce has been visiting the Adirondacks since 1986. She is interest-
ed in history, & ventured into Tahawus and Santanoni before both were
restored. She has since made many trips into Santanoni on her bicycle.
The Adirondack Interpretive Center is also a favorite of hers.
Deb loves the ADKs. She discovered Newcomb when traveling to
the great camp Santanoni. She has explored the area many times.
Dan isn’t able to send a photo of him holding the patch as he
doesn't have a phone that can take selfies. He is old fashioned
and uses a camera. He earned the Explorer patch on 8/23/2019
and the Challenger patch on 8/20/2020. You may recognize some
of the other patches in his photograph. He wants you all to know
that he got just as much enjoyment obtaining the "Experience
Newcomb" patches as the others. One of his earlier memories of
Camp Santanoni goes back to 1988. On the 27th of February he
ski toured into Newcomb Lake with a friend and, according to his
notes, fell twice going in and once coming out.
The Newcomb area has much to
offer everyone!
