Congratulations…..to twin sisters Di-
ane Ash & Deb Price on receiving the Explorer
Patch in the Experience Newcomb Patch Program!
Deb, and her sister Diane, learned about the New-
comb challenges in an Adirondack hiking guide
that she picked up in the Plattsburgh airport while
waiting for their mother’s plane to depart for
Florida. They were interested in a challenge they
could complete in one day before she headed
back home to New Hampshire. Her sister is famil-
iar with Newcomb in that she delivers library
books to the Newcomb Senior Center.
They enjoyed the variety of activities to choose
from. The Sucker Brook Trail at the AIC was a
lovely woodland trail. Their only difficulty was
finding the trail to Woodruff Pond. They stopped
for lunch at the campground cafe and were given
directions by the very helpful, friendly
staff. Lunch was great, also. All in all, it was a
lovely day for them both!
