Preparing for the Future
EV CHARGING SYSTEMS IN NEWCOMB
The Town Board was recently contacted by Apex Solar Power
asking the Town to install EV Charging Systems in our commu-
nity. Currently, we have two stations located at the Cloud-
splitter Outfitters that were paid for and installed by Dave
and Ruth Olbert.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Au-
thority, known as NYSERDA has partnered with the NYSEG
company and is offering these systems at no out-of-pocket
costs to the Town. This program is completely funded by
NYSERDA and NYSEG through APEX SOLAR.
We are currently seeking suitable locations for installation of
these “electric fueling stations” on Town owned land. These
charging stations are equipped with credit card readers and
use cell service to transmit the data to NYSERDA.
