P. 5

By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh,
was vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in
the world, Taken up in glory.

The Celebrant leads the church in prayer.

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor. Holy One, we confess to you that often
we make excuses for not following the way you have called us to go. We have tried to argue
and bargain with you to make the burden lighter. We confess that we too often do no look
for you in the face of others, nor allow others to see you in our own actions. Too often we
have doubted your presence and failed to worship you with our lives. Make us more
complete and faithful followers of you. We ask all these things through Christ our Lord,
               Amen.

               The Celebrant says;
God’s mercy is from everlasting to everlasting. Through Christ, we are freed to love one
another, to forgive one another and be forgiven. We are given new life. With full and free
hearts, let us answer God’s gift with our praise service, and devotion.

The peace of the Lord be always with you. And also, with you.

All are seated and any announcements are shared. A hymn or song may be played.

               The Lord is here!
The Spirit of the Lord is with us!

               Lift up your hearts!
We lift them to the Lord!

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give him our thanks and praise.

               The Celebrant continues:
It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Father
Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth through Christ our Lord and Master. By Him the angels
praise your majesty, dominions worship and powers tremble. The heavens, with the heavenly
virtues and bless-ed seraphim, rejoice together in exultation.
We pray that our voice mingles with theirs as we lift our voices and say:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest. +Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the
               highest.
