National Weather Service
The Goodland National Weather Service office (GLD) is a full-featured Weather Forecast Office with a
19 County Warning Area (CWA) including 3 counties in eastern Colorado, 3 counties in southwest Nebraska, and 13 counties in northwest Kansas. Aviation forecasts are created for two sites: Goodland,
Kansas, and McCook, Nebraska. The office also has a fire weather and hydrologic program. The surface observation program is limited to the supplemental climatological observations. Climatological records for Goodland are available from 1886 through the present.
Sherman Theatre
The Sherman Theatre opened August 2, 1926, as a silent movie/ vaudeville theatre. During the past ninety-plus years, it has undergone many changes with much advancement in technology. Gems from the past have been uncovered and are visible in the lobby and auditorium. It is literally, according to our elevation,
“The top motion picture theatre in the State of Kansas. – John Golden.”

Goodland Topside Trails Project Inc.
is an enhancement to the existing health, recreation, and quality of
life opportunities in Goodland and Sherman County. Residents and visitors from across the State of Kansas can enjoy the scenery and the great outdoors along the Topside Trail.
