   Things to do...
The Big Easel
In the spring of 2001, the “World’s Largest Painting on an Easel” was erected at Pioneer Park. The 24 x 32-foot painting is a reproduction of Vincent Van Gogh’s “Three Sunflowers in a Vase”. The Goodland easel is the third painting erected in the Van Gogh Project. Goodland was chosen as a site due to its close connection to the sunflower agriculture.
   United Telephone Building
The historic two-story, buff-brick structure is lavishly decorated with red, yellow, and blue terra cotta tiles inspired by Aztec art. It is located at 1003 Main Ave.
 Sherman County Speedway
The speedway consists of a 3/8 mile, semi-banked, dirt track. It is home to the Sherman County Stock Car Racing Association. Bring the family out
and enjoy a night of racing with the cruisers, bombers, super stock and modified race cars.
 Carnegie Arts Center
The Carnegie Arts Center is housed in the historic Goodland Public Library that was built in 1913.
The building was constructed in large part thanks to a grant from Andrew Carnegie for $10,000.
The building was designed in an
Italian Renaissance Revival style
by Denver architects, Barrensen
Brothers. It is one of 59 Carnegie libraries in the State of Kansas. The Arts Center has called this building home since 1985. The Arts Center features a modern visual arts gallery, gift shop and classroom space.
