THE ALTAR FOR THE

DEAD

This tradition is carried out in order to celebrate our dear people who

have died.

This altar is located in capultitlan, Toluca and the altar is mestizo, as it is
a European and indigenous cultural mix, usually the altar is placed on
October 31 and removed on November 3.The offering is placed right

on an altar where there are several Catholic religious images. This altar
was placed by Lidia Martinez at her home.

At the altar we can see that it has 3 floors representing earth, sky and

purgatory.In it we can also observe a cross of cempasúchil that helps
the deceased find their way to the altar by its smell and color and also

candles that their light will be the guide for souls to reach their home
and will also help them return to the afterlife.
