 INFORMATION FOR OLDER AUSTRALIANS
Staying connected: Why it's important as we age
Ageing in your own home has many positive outcomes, however it can put you at risk of social isolation.
The important thing is not what you do, it is actually getting out and socialising. It has been difficult over the past few months, however as COVID-19 restrictions are easing, we should be able to get back to enjoying our social activities.
Staying connected impacts your health in many positive ways as you age. Support and company as you get older can help to reduce loneliness, depression, disability, hardship and loss.
allcare can help you stay connected or help you reconnect with the things that are important to you. All you need to do is chat to your Client Engagement Manager or call 1300 377 074 and talk about the options available to you. We can provide transport, accompany you to an event or social outing with friends or even help you shop for your hobby supplies.
 How do I stay connected?

Here are some suggestions on how to spend time with people you enjoy:

Make an effort to make new friends
It is really important to continue making new connections throughout your life so that your social life does not decline. Younger people can reenergise you and help you see life from a new perspective.
