9.  In addition to the vacation and holidays observed by the school, the student is allowed eight
                   days absence during the school year. Additional absences will result in further disciplinary
                   actions ultimately progressing to Administrative Withdrawal from the program.
               10. A student who is unable to complete distance education course work assignments and/or
                   exams due to illness, accident or a medical condition which interferes with their ability to
                   perform essential functions will be required to provide official documentation of clearance
                   from an intervening professional prior to resuming studies.
               Note:  All absences, including partial days are recorded and if need be reported to the Veteran’s
               Administration Regional Office, (VARO).

               Credit Hours
               Each required course in the professional curriculum reflects a credit hour value. BHCLR uses the
               credit hour formula identified in the Academic Information section of the catalog.

               Graduation Requirements
               All requirements must be fulfilled before graduate status, diploma and school pin are bestowed:


                   1.  Successful completion of the Program of Studies and the Professional Curriculum;
                       successful completion is evidenced by completion of all requirements for each course;
                   2.  Fulfill progression and promotion criteria; and
                   3.  Complete the Graduate Clearance Form and process.

               Length of Program
               The program of study is one academic year and includes forty-four (44) weeks of instruction.

               Graduates
               Upon successful completion of the program and graduation requirements, the student receives an
               Associates of Applied Science in Histotechnology from the school. Graduates are eligible to
               apply and take the national certification examination. Graduates are not required to take the
               registry exam to work in the State of Arkansas, although some labs may choose to require it.
               Each state is governed by specific rules for certification.

               Registry/Certification Exam
               Completion of the program of study, graduation, and filing an application with fee assures
               eligibility to apply for the national certification examination of the American Society of Clinical
               Pathologists. Successful candidates are recognized as Registered Histology Technicians, having
               demonstrated competency and quality performance in the profession.

               Program Objectives
               At the completion of the program, the student shall have achieved the following Terminal
