BAG 2 PRIZES

IN CHRONICS 2016

YOGYAKARTA – A team of AD students (SERENITY) and a collaboration team of AD and
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM) students (PROFECT) have recently won 1st
and 2nd Place respectively for their participation in International Competition of Product
Design and Ergonomics (CHRONICS2016). It was held by the Industrial Engineering
Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gajah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia
from 10th to 13th November 2016.

CHRONICS2016 was organised by one of the most notable Universities in South East
Asia with participating judges from board of experts in the field of Product Design
Engineering, Ergonomics, Design Practitioner, and Business Studies. The theme for this
year’s event is ‘ORGANIZED LIVING’.

Four initial teams from UiTM joined the crowd of up to 109 Participants from 10 Asia-
Pacific countries, with three UiTM teams was shortlisted in the Top 15 Finalists. The
students representing the SERENITY team are Rahiman Bin Rahizar, Nur Azureen
Binti Lockman, and Mu’az Bin Asmadi. On the other hand, Redzuan Bin Salwi, Mohd
Hasriq Haiqal Bin Mohd Rashid, as well as Muhammad Iddin Saufi Bin Abdul Kadir are
representatives of PROFECT, while WRAPPER team was represented by Mohamad Amir
Razi Bin Abdullah, Muhammad Ismail Bin Ibrahim, and Mohd Suhaimi Bin Tukiman. The
three teams travelled to the Universitas Gajah Mada, Yogyakarta-Indonesia and was
accompanied by Erwin Rezasyah, Supervising Lecturer of the teams.

This event has been conducted annually for the past 7 years and hosting by alternate
countries from all across the Asia-Pacific region. UiTM participated in this competition for
the first time representing Malaysia and managed to secure two of the top prizes – 1st
and 2nd Place, was highly regarded by the committee. The teams managed to win the
heart of the participants and committees for their positive attitude, friendliness, as well as
strong and great teamwork in striving for the championship. - gesturz
