The ball is lofted into the air, players are taut with
tension.
Dirt is kicked skyward from driving spikes as the
ball carrier struggles through the line.
Screeches of excited cheerleaders are heard above
the clamor in the stands.
The last quarter ends . . . the scoreboard flashes the
outcome.
