               Box 18-4
               Guidelines for Administration of Vaccines

                  ▪ Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for route of administration, storage,
                    and reconstitution of the vaccine.
                  ▪ If refrigeration is necessary, store on a central shelf and not on the door; frequent
temperature changes from opening the refrigerator door can alter the vaccine’s
                    potency.
