Answer

Under Sir Reo the core activities of the company grew

organically and expansion was, in a sense, evolutionary.

However, in the late 1970s and the 1980s growth by
acquisition did take place, leading to a more diversified

organisation.

Changes in the external environment may require

modification to the internal business environment, either

by a reaction to recent changes or trends or by a pro-
active action in order to prepare the company for

forecast events. The internal environment is concerned

with the company’s abilities & potential whereas the
external environment is primarily concerned with the

marketplace and competition.
