suffered by the Group. The loss on disposal of the
Healthcare division amounted to £47.7 million.
The non-casino aspect of the Leisure division which were
discontinued in the year, showed an operating loss of £0.4
million which was offset by a gain on sales of properties of
£0.4 million pounds. The Property division, which was
discontinued from 1991, recorded a turnover of £8.5 million
and an operating loss of £0.6 million, reflecting the sale of
properties at below book value.
