An additional response to the deterioration of falling sales
and revenue was in July 2002 to sell the Glenvarigill Car
Company. This after the company had experienced a four
year run of losses ending in a return to profit in 2001. It was
sold in a management buyout for £40 million on a turnover
of £100 million and was one of Scotland’s fasted growing
motor groups.
