Spectrum of events from the Department of English

Developing creativity, stimulating and
nurturing the learning environment is what
language classes are all about. What a child
learns with pleasure is what he never forgets.
With this thought in mind , the English
department conducted various activities in the
primary, middle and secondary segment
classrooms. This made the teaching of
language more engaging and interactive.
Activities like weaving a story, collage making
and recitation were conducted in classrooms.
Deciphering the word wheel, crosswords were
linked to vocabulary in lessons. Students were
encouraged to script and enact one act plays
and advertisements.
Debate competition was held for the students of

classes 6 , 7th, 8th,9th and 10 . Students debated
on various current issues, questioning their
opponent’s viewpoints and counter arguing by
putting across their views vehemently. Theme based
Street plays and radio shows highlighted the
literary talents of the students.
Designing book covers , writing book reviews and
poster making were some of the activities conducted
in the primary segment . Cartoon scripting saw our
students at their creative best , Demonetization being
the favourite topic. The department aims to free the
child’s potential to bring about a transformation in
him. Students are encouraged to speak as this is the
gateway to their freedom of expression and creativity.

language, students are encouraged to read and enact
the characters that they learn about in their lessons.
Poem composition and short story writing are
encouraged in classes ,for free expression of
thoughts.
