) Venn Diagrams   -  method for picturing  union/intersecUon  or other relations between events.

               .:.Sometimes   the Venn diagram shows the number of outcomes that are favourable  to the events
                 Sometimes  it is the probabilities  of the events that are shown.

                '\.  Example:

                 100 people participated in a survey about the quality  of 60 TV programs.
                 The results are organised  as follows:
                 35 programs  are said to be worth watching,  of which 8 of those are comedy.
                 There are in total 20 programs  that are comedy.

                 The Venn diagram below shows  the events comedy  (C) and programs that are worth watching
                 (W). The values a, b, c, d represents  the numbers  of programs.
