President of the
Philippine Psychiatric Association

It is with great pride and privilege to welcome you all to the Philippine Psychiatric Association’s 47th Annual Convention with the theme “Psychiatry in the New Normal: An Evolving Biopsychosociospiritual Approach”.
2020 was a year that changed the landscape of all nations worldwide- from health, economics, education, technology, lifestyle, faith and politics. From the start of the pandemic Mental Health already became a pressing issue for front liners, victims and the general public. Mental Health will continue to be a priority concern as the scientific community still continues to struggle to contain the spread and eventually find a remedy for this virus. Because of the uncertainty of its duration, we all need to continue our mission as LEADERS to be able to deliver the services necessary to curtail the impact on mental health.
The unprecedented challenges we encountered has necessitated a modification in our annual convention platform as we are now going virtual.

allow more people to attend than would ordinarily be the case.
