Interpersonal Effectiveness BOUNDARIES
BOUNDARIES (BO)—limits set to separate us from others
  Who needs Boundaries? Everyone!
Boundaries help:
 keep relationships healthy & safe
 reduce stress & conflict
 keep self-respect
 demonstrate independence
Types of Boundaries:
Examples:
  Physical—my body & the space around it
     Word/Language—communication
       Psychological—the personal info you share about you
    Emotional—my feelings & not taking on others’ distress
    Spiritual—my religious & spiritual beliefs
       How can I set Boundaries with others?
 Observe—Notice how you are being treated
o Is this what I want?
 Model—Show others how you want to be treated each time you interact
 Communicate—Use a DM to explain.
