Preface

The importance of clinical medicine appears to be on the
downfall with most of the modern textbooks giving more
importance to the investigative part of medicine. It is important
that we should concentrate on the clinical side of medicine.
This book has been written keeping this aspect in mind.
To make things more interesting, the facts are presented in
questions and answers format. I sincerely hope that my humble
attempt will be beneficial to the readers.
I am extremely thankful to Dr Shafeeq Mattummal, who has
helped me in editing this book and his suggestions were very
valuable. I am also thankful to Dr Thirunavukkarasu Ganesan,
who has taken all the pains to go through the matter, and his
suggestions were of immense help in writing this book.
I would also like to thank Shri Jitendar P Vij (Group
