Focus on the Cross challenge-A fun game for every age

Find as many crosses as you can in everyday life. Telephone poles, sign posts, the
seams on a basketball, tree branches, tiles on the floor etc. Seeing crosses eve-

rywhere are a constant reminder of Jesus.

Prayer bottle

Needed:

1-20 ounce soda bottle, rinsed out

Plastic disposable plates

Fine tipped marker

Glitter or confetti

Corn syrup

Water

Scissors

Cut 6 ½” ovals from plates and write Family, Neighbors, Church, Government,
World Crisis and Peace on each of the ovals with the marker. Put into bottle and
add 1 teaspoon of glitter/confetti. Fill ¾ full with corn syrup and water, tighten

lid. Shake the bottle every day in July and pray for the item that comes up.

What are things we can do to shine bright like a firecracker with God’s love?

Have the kids take a toilet paper tube and decorate it with star stickers and
crepe paper streamers. Fill with confetti and glitter then cover bottom with a
construction paper circle stapled to the tube. Take it outside and slowly shake
the glitter out of the firecracker tube to show how brightly God’s love can

sparkle in our lives!
