From the Pastor’s Study…

As I write this it is actually pouring rain outside! I am trying very, very hard not to get too ex-
cited, because for me rain means spring. I know, it is WAY too early for such thoughts, but I

can’t seem to help myself!! It doesn’t help of course that I have been perusing seed catalogs

every chance I get to spy out what varieties of plants I want to grow this year in my vegetable
garden. There are SO many to choose from and so many plants that capture my imagination.

Part of my fun this year is also choosing seeds for our market garden here at Trinity. As you
know we are expanding our ministry this year and hope to not only have another garden on

site but also to start a Farmer’s Market on Sundays after worship. This effort is meant to not
only provide the local producers in our Durand community a chance to sell their superior

products, but also serve as a draw for selling our own produce! Our hope is that we are able
to sell enough not only to cover our costs but also to raise money for ELCA World Hunger. In

addition, we hope to provide nutritious food for our folks locally who are experiencing food
         scarcity.
