We invite you to join us Sunday, August 18 for an “All Teams” Meeting after worship. Come
and hear what our ministries and teams are up to; your presence and input will be so appre-
ciated.
With all the busyness around Trinity, we are reminded in the story of Jesus’ visit with Martha
and Mary the importance of being still, of inviting God to share the stillness with us as we lis-
ten for God’s voice and sitting in God’s presence. What practices help you focus on God? I
would love to hear your responses.
Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know I am God,” is a verse that reminds me to slow down, take
some deep breaths, and know God walks with me throughout my day. Repeating this short
verse, quiets my mind and reminds me to focus on God. At times, favorite hymns come to
mind, such as “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” draw me closer to God.
My prayers for all of us is to make time daily to be in the presence of our Lord and experience
“the peace that passes all understanding” during our busy, hectic lives.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and come and join us in our activities. Bring a friend!
God’s peace,
Sharon
