BREXIT EVENT
This is an interesting avenue for students to learn on the job
while gaining their Level 6 qualification over a two-year time
period. With on the job training and the most relevant and
up-to-date study apprentices and employers gain from the
experience.
The audience were then given the opportunity to attend one
of two breakout workshops by Croke Consulting and AEB
Solutions. Both workshops offered attendees a different

speaking on practical customs consequences for traders and
which included the nine areas of exposure for companies in AEB Solutions speaking about the risks associated with Brexit
Ireland. Anne went onto speak about Enterprise Ireland’s free and solutions they can offer Irish customers. Both were
Brexit SME Scorecard which is available from their website. equally attended by individuals on the afternoon.
This Scorecard was developed for businesses to understand
their level of exposure to the UK and European markets. The Just before 5pm the event was closed by Mick Curran, CEO of
presentation ended with possible actions on how to prepare CILT Ireland. He thanked all speakers and the audience for
for Brexit. their time as well as CILT Council from both areas for coming.

From an industry perspective, Tom Minnock, Supply Chain
Operations Manager, in Glanbia, spoke about the possible
impacts Brexit will have on their Agri-Food business. As a
company that is based in both the Southern and Northern
areas of Ireland and deals with suppliers from these areas,
Brexit is will directly affect their business, prices, suppliers
and trade. The presentation was very informative to
attendees on the afternoon who gained insights into the
working of cross border trade and in the Agri-Food business.
Next to speak was Declan Allen, Assistant Head, School of
Management, College of Business, in Dublin Institute of
Technology, who spoke about Logistic Associate
Apprenticeships through DIT and Industry.
