Greenville, SC Touchpoints Site
Hey Y'all from South Carolina!
It's hard to believe how many years have passed since Greenville was named one of the first
three Touchpoints sites in the United States along with Napa Valley, California and Decatur,
Illinois. It is easy to say that the training and relationships that came from this experience have
been valuable to all of us.
While our site has become inactive as a team with retirements, job changes, funding issues, etc.,
some of the team members have continued to incorporate Touchpoints in their individual
practices and volunteer activities. Our team included Paula Watt, Meg Jewell, Barbara Massey,
Dane Pierce, Linda Brees, Sue Strzyzewski and Agnes Williams.
To share a bit of how Touchpoints continues to be used, some of our team members report as
follows:
* Dane Pierce uses Touchpoints in his pediatric clinic, part of The Greenville Health System's
Children's Hospital and has educated pediatric residents in Touchpoints. As far as we know,
Dane was the first pediatrician outside of Boston to be Touchpoints trained.
* Sue Strzyzewski uses Touchpoints and the NBAS in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the
Greenville Health System especially now that there are several long-term babies in the unit.
* Paula Watt teaches Touchpoints principles and theory to nursing students each fall term at
Clemson University. She also uses Touchpoints in the clinic and with students.
* Agnes Williams is preparing to teach a class for a faith based organization on Active Listening
based on some of the Touchpoints principles that continue across the life span.
Dane expects to attend the Reunion in Providence in July and will bring greetings to you from
each of us. Happy Year!!!
