The story of the Kazova workers is one of a few people covet-
ing money, looking after their own interests who take away even
a handful of pennies that the workers have and then impudently
lie about it. On the other side is a woman ill with cancer who can-
not afford medication, a three-month-old baby who has had to be
put into care and workers who have the bailiffs after them for lack
of credit. The form the story the Kazova workers have told us more
or less clear to us. But there is no point in mourning: it has left
the tragic and is rapidly flowing towards a hopeful future. A story
that could have come from Yesilcam studios (translator’s note: a
famous film studio in Turkey) it is turning into something like an
American film set. The Kazova workers, who have resisting for
something like 200 days for the rights they did not get occupied
their factory, are restarting production and promising to establish
a joint fund with the items they produce and sell.
After this we have no boss
The Kazova workers resisted for 200 days after their rights
were taken away, they took control of the factory where they
worked, they repaired the machines that had been treacherously
wrecked by their former boss and they promise to resume produc-
tion – their tale is moving towards a bright and shining conclu-
sion. This is the honourable stance of the workers who rejected
their boss and a few days ago started production at full capacity.
“Our work is still not finished, the scope of our resistance has
changed but it has not finished,” says Bulent Unal, while placing
a hopeful comma on the period they have gone through. “After
the Gezi resistance, we went around forums collecting donations.
Everyone was helpful to us. But we preferred to exhibit a stance
