INTRODUCTION
2020 has been a year of change and loss. Changes in educational delivery have disrupted how educators and
students study, learn, and practice their art; an extremely stressful time for both students and faculty. Professors
are anxious and burned out. They’ve been pivoting between on-line and in-person instruction. They’ve been
juggling work and childcare. They’ve been worried — about Covid-19, the economy, social justice, isolation from
colleagues, and the physical health and well-being of students who are often also juggling jobs, schoolwork, and
family obligations. In light of these circumstances, SAALM made the decision to cancel this year’s Collegiate
Exhibit. We understand the disappoint for students and faculty and shall bring back this showcase of collegiate art
in the Spring of 2022.

The San Antonio Art League & Museum As a way to honor the tireless work of art educators, we invited university and college faculty to submit works that
130 King William Street display their personal approaches to art as expression. The works encompass painting, sculpture, photography,
San Antonio, Texas 78204 weaving, and mixed media; each an articulation of the artist’s views on culture, spirituality, psychology,
