 Modified Football is
Plagued by Injuries
Hard times hit the Modified Football squad as it encounters its first winless season. Despite this disappointing fact, the Young Gridders gained im portant experience in their start up the Brothers’ football program.
Plagued by injuries, the defense, led by Matt Izzo, Ken Fifield, and John Moorshead battled fiercely to push their opponents back to the line of scrimmage. Though this effort was often marred by lopsided scores, it was fruitful later in the sea son when the Brothers held Nottingham to only three touchdowns.
It was that same game that saw the offense, led
by Runningback Todd Kasmer and Guard Steve Congel come closest to a victory. With two TD’s to their credit, the Modified Gridders went to a pass ing strategy — only to be stymied by a fumble in the closing minutes of the game.
In any event. Coach Silvaggio has a reason to be pleased since much of his team will be witness ing JV action next fall.
