The Nottingham tournament proved to be a rubber match between the two Syracuse rivals, where it was obvious that the Bulldogs had spent much time preparing for this rematch. The lead see-sawed through out the tourney, and Notting ham was able to eke out a narrow victory over the Brothers.
Henninger hosted the next tournament where the Brothers sought to regain their position. They pulled out to an early lead and put distance between themselves and the competi tion with each succeeding round. In the end, CBA was able to recapture its former leading position.
Since then, the team has captured an honorable ranking of sixth place in regional competition — one of the best in recent years.
The team owed much of its mileage to leading scores by Jerry Mingolelli, Charlie Benson, and Lewis Kapell. In addition. Seniors Armand DiScenna, Marc Bernstein, and Junior Peter Vanderloo proved to be consistent scorers. The team hoped that the contributions of these members would lead to nominations for the select team from Central New York.
“ I figured it out!’ shouts Marc Bernstein.
