The Brothers Varsity Baseball team (23-3) had an outstanding season thanks to the great coaching of Mr. Tom Dotterer. Strong pitching by Jeff Francher (10-2) and Jack Mantione (9-1) helped lead the way to a vic torious season. A team cannot win without producing runs. Ron Marshall. Jason Macko, Brian Delorenzo, and Brendan Shaw helped that cause. The Brothers clinched the Onon- aga OHSL Metro Division by beating East Syracuse-Minoa. Jack Mantione pitched a
two-hitter, shutting out ESM 5-0. Brian De lorenzo had a double with two RBIs and Bill Marsallo’s triple produced the first run of the game. Shortstop Mike Anderson dove for a ground ball up the middle, capturing the most important out of the game, and ensur ing a victory for the Brothers.
Girls Softball
Under the leadership of Don McClure, the girl’s softball team had a partially successful season. The team was primarily made up of seasoned players so their prospects looked good in the start of the season. However, the teams strong spirit and hard work did not pay off. The close losses were disheart ening but the Brothers rallied to win a few games. At the end of the season, despite their efforts, they finished with a less than winning record.
