Second semester last year, a new homeroom policy was instituted to give the band and chorus more rehearsal time. With no more practices after school or during classes, at­ tendance at band practice has been way up, and with the practice every other day, the quality of the band has in­ creased dramatically in the past year and a half. This, de­ spite a very young band con­ sisting of mostly seventh, eighth, and ninth graders. With only a few upperclassmen and the dedicated Mr. Caraher to provide leadership, the band contributed to a very success­ ful Christmas concert this year with such pieces as Lost Creek Adventure, Windsongs, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. The Jazz Ensemble, also a young group this year, pulled off three songs at the Christ­ mas concert, and was also a very successful part of the Music program.
