 tOords to an Underclassmen ...
/ ere 1am, a senior who 1 * 1 has survived almost ^ Vfour years of high
school. Now that 1look back I think, "What have I learned?” The answer? One might think that I have learned to budget my time, do my work, pay at tention in class . . . but that isn’t QUITE what I would say.
What I WOULD say is that I’ve learned to scrape up every available minute of study time onthedayofatest, howto do my homework in between periods, and how to sleep in class without getting caught. These may not seem like noble pursuits, but as a senior who has survived, I recommend them to be on your list of
"Things to Learn”.Why? Well, in these days when we are all busy with sports, social func tions, and other personal en deavors, no one seems to have time for academics anymore.
Because of this, homework and studying have made a distinct place for themselves ... Lunch, Studyhall, and Homeroom.
Now ask yourself. How many times have you found yourself counting, mapping out every minute of your day so you could get your Math home work done? Have you ever been caught typing in the li brary so you could hand that
"Ever-so-Important” term pa per in on time next period, or even brought in your own typewriter so you could type in between Spanish and Chem istry? You see, you’re learning already ...
As I sit back and contem plate all of these thoughts, the helpful advice I can give is this: Next time you find yourself doing homework at 11:30 at night, just relax and go to bed, you’ll have PLENTY of time to do it in homeroom.
