Girls Tennis, Cross Country
The CBA Girls Tennis team can
be described in one word . . . awe
some! This past year, consistent sin
gles players and strong doubles play
ers enabled the team to win back to
back league titles and sectional titles,
with Brooke Ferenchak and Allison
Geiss winning the doubles, and Rose
Linda Borbuto defeating teammate
Rosemary Lombardi in singles sec
tional play. Qualifying for states were
Ferenchak and Geiss in doubles, and
Barbuto in singles, which meant CBA
sent more players to the state tour
nament than any other school in Syr
acuse.
Seniors Rose Linda Barbuto,
scorching heat. The crazy Central
New York Fall season is mixed with
an abundance of undesirable weath
er conditions.
The team ran across selected sites
at meets where they competed
against rival teams. Training for these
meets was not easy. Cross Country
teammates ran miles each day to keep
in shape. They could often be seen
running along Jamesville Road, or
other like areas, as part of prepa
ration for the season.
