 Cheerleaders added a new di
mension to the sports program at
CBA. Their cheers raised spirits and
rallied support for our sports teams.
When the 1990-91 Varsity Cheer
leading squad started their season, it
was apparent that many improve
ments had been made from the year
before. After winning first place in
the Western Region Cheerleading
competition, the cheerleaders were
aware that their capabilities were
much higher than the year before.
As the season opened, cheers

were directed more toward the
crowd, and CBA pride and spirit
made a comeback. Cheers became
much more difficult, as collegiate
stunts were added to the court cheers,
and the crowd became more and
more impressed with each passing
game.
With eight high spirited girls, the
Junior Varsity Cheerleading team
cheered on the Brothers. The team
gave enthusiastic support to the JV
Basketball team, encouraging them
on to victory and consoling them in
their losses.
The 1990-91 season provided the
team with their first season of being
an organized group. Their coach,
Mrs. Donna Marie Norton, used a
great deal of creativity to come up
with spunky cheers and catchy
phrases. She did a great job in train
ing her girls to be loud and cheerful.
Three cheers for the girls' hard
work and dedication to the sport of
cheerleading!
