Disappointing Season Toughens Gridders ii'
Lack of experience helps to explain the Modified Foot­
ball squad’s two wins and four losses. In spite of that fact,
it became apparent throughout the season that the Modi­
fied gridders were developing the football skills for playing
on the higher level squads. “ I believe that a strong modi­
fied program can assure continued success for our varsity
team,” observed Coach Carl Ranieri.
A powerful offense led by runningbacks Chris Davis,
Bob Lyons and Dave Dunbar contributed to the Broth­
ers’ strong showing in their two league wins. In addition, it
was obvious that the passing attack was secured by the
powerful offensive line, who gave quarterback Tim Kelly
the time needed to get the play off. Thus, the factor which
inhibited the squad from a better performance was their
lack of experience.
Defensively, the Gridders were able to hold their oppo­
nents to manageable margins because of the steady work
